We might be moving back to the US soon.
This is something we have discussed alot and initially it was going to be in about 5 years. I wanted Ashley to have finished school first as he has an Mental Disability and the school he goes to is wonderful and I have no idea what is available in the US.
But lately things have been pushing us closer and closer to the idea sooner.
Billy is extremely homesick. He is very close to his family. I have no family on this side of the country. We have no close friends so its just us.
We want to have a baby soon and while the health care system over here is much better than there, we have no one to see the baby here. We would have such a closeknot family unit over there.
Also we have a home on an acre of land there which the mortgage is only $450 a month. We pay $1450 a month rent here.
There are so many things that scare me about it, but I love my husband furiously and I love him more than this country. I know he is miserable here. He gave up so much to come here and it eats away at me all the time. His mother is always hinting for us to come back.
I hate the heat here, it never gets this hot there. We would have central heating and aircon in his house. We could have a dog.
There are so many pros and cons for both places, but I know that my husband being happy over rides anything.

omg noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Hi Nikki... wow what a huge decision. It sounds like the only reason to stay here is for your sons school and the healthcare system we have here.
Maybe you just need to jump on the net and find out what schools if any your son could go to and how exactly the US health system works for you if you have a baby... and if it seems all good you can make the move!!
Good luck with your decision. I am sure it will all work out in the end and I am sure if you move back it will nice to have that support group around you :)
hi nikki
wow what a big decision to make. you guys need to do what is best for you. where do you start in working out how to move and when? im not sure how it all works. would you sell most of your stuff you have here?
xoxox
we are actually thinking of shipping our stuff over in a shipping container. We just have too much stuff that I want to keep!
I think that will me by terms!! Hubby gets to live where he wants but I get to keep my stuff!!
Just a hint from someone who made a big move from one country to another (unfortunately mine was leaving my parents behind in order for a brighter future for my children) - no country will ever be 100% better than the next. Pick the 3 or 4 things that are really important to you right now and compare only those 4 things eg. family, healthcare, school & heat if those are your big 4. After an initial adjustment period, you will find new irritations that go with your new country (which they all have & is just what us humans do) - it's a whole lot easier to be happy with those when you are comfortable with your big 4 being the right choice. Its a big decision and I wish you all the best in making it.
ps >> Does the US have weight watchers - 'scuse my total ignorance.
Yep they do! i'm pretty sure it started there!
Aah Nicki I am sure you will work out what is best for all of you... It is a big decision and one we made a few years ago... I love Oz but miss my family and friends so much... But you will know in your heart what is best xx
Hubby & I have wanted a baby for more than 2 years so I'm working hard at losing weight to help make it happen. I hope it happens for you too Nikki :-) Which state will you likely move to?
